My lab is dedicated to the visualization of protein function, using protein crystallography, cryo-EM, and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) as main experimental tools. Currently, we study bacteriophage-mycobacterium interaction at the molecular level for phage therapy. We successfully solved the entire molecular architecture of a siphophage at atomic resolution to reveal detailed interactions and to propse a DNA ejection system. We also applied cryo-ET to observe how siphophages interact with host cell membrane.
