She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences of the College of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines and is a resident researcher at the Pure and Applied Microbiology Laboratory of the Research Center for the Natural and Applied Sciences (RCNAS) of the University. She heads the Bacteriophage Ecology, Aquaculture, Therapy and Systematics (BEATS) research group in the university.
