Membership

The International Society for Viruses of Microorganisms was established to facilitate communication and collaboration among those studying Bacterial, Archaeal, and Eukaryotic viruses of microorganisms. Such viruses are critical to the ecology of our planet and many have long served as important model systems in genetics, biochemistry, and host/pathogen interactions.

The Society seeks to bring together researchers across a diverse set of disciplines – molecular biology, genomics, population biology, and ecology – with broad scientific goals from basic science to medical and industrial applications, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and raise the stature of these important scientific endeavours.

Membership in the Society demonstrates your support for viruses of microorganisms research.

Basic Membership is Free

All Members:

     • Are part of the International Society for Viruses of Microrganisms network
     • Access to the latest ISVM news through our newsletter
     • Help grow the Society by contributing and developing new projects
     • Are eligible to serve as ISVM officers
     • Can ask ISVM to endorse (inter)national initiatives on viruses of microbes
     • Can ask ISVM to promote their viruses of microbes initiatives through the ISVM network
     • Students and Postdocs are eligible for poster prizes at Viruses of Microbes meetings
